-P.S. forgot to mention I lost my boarding pass in London for Entebbe. only a minor setback though. they printed me a new one. i found it later in my folder.
- first full day in uganda. we left the convent for kampala (capital city). we transferred some currency there. one us dollar = about 2 thousand ugandan schillings. i saw lots of pterodactyls as well. huge. and more armed guards. ak47's, rifles, shotguns galore!
-made it to UCU all alive and saying on campus for one night before being taken to my home stay. had some orientation (blah) and a tour of the university. its gorgeous! and huge! and bird-y and tree-y!
-i have a ugandan friend, boniface. he's fun and nice.
-First dinner: rice and beans, mashed banana (mookote), cabbage and some type of starchy-potatoey type vegetable. prolly a potato.
-also discovered a note in my suitcase that my case was opened and inspected by the us dept. of homeland security. yikes.
